How it works
Your business profile
How Kila fits your kind of business, in one place: the profile and type of business, the modules it uses, the rules that apply by law, the words it uses and the menu layout.
Business profile shows “How Kila fits this business: the modules it uses, the words it speaks and the rules that apply.” Kila sets it from the kind of business you chose when you signed up, and the owner can change each part.
The profile and the type of business
Link to this section: The profile and the type of businessThe card at the top names the profile, such as Shop, “Scan and sell at the counter”, with the Type of business, the Main screen, such as Till (scan and sell), and the Rules that apply. Change profile moves the business to another profile: “Modules that leave stop showing; their records are kept and come back if you switch them on again.” Kila lists what Will appear and what Will stop showing before you confirm.
Modules lists “What the Shop profile gives this business, within your plan”, for a shop. Included modules are part of the profile, each In use or, when your plan does not have it, Upgrade to use. Optional ones are “Off until an owner switches them on. Modules they need come with them.” See Your plan and billing.
Rules that apply
Link to this section: Rules that apply“Overlays add the rules a business must follow, usually by law, without changing how it works.” Tick the ones your business needs and tap Save rules: Alcohol, Pharmacy, Farm chemicals, Food safety, Clinical privacy, Fuel and Weighed goods. For example, see Selling alcohol.
Branches on another profile
Link to this section: Branches on another profile“A branch can work differently from the business, for example a hotel’s bar on Food & drink service. Its modules come with it.” Each branch is Same as the business until you choose another profile for it.
“What this business calls its core records. The profile sets them; an owner can use their own.” For each word, the table shows what Kila says, what This profile says and Your own word, such as client instead of customer. Tap Save words: “Menus and screens use them straight away.”
Menu layout
Link to this section: Menu layout“How the menu is organised for everyone in the business. Every layout shows the same pages, with the same access rules; only the arrangement changes.” There are four: Classic, Hubs, Workspaces and Processes. See Choose a menu layout.
Needs a manager
The owner changes the profile, its rules, words and the menu layout.
- Choose a menu layout
- Settings: the business details, and the type of business.
- Add what your business does: a General business switches on a group, such as Appointments and bookings or Online shop, and Kila switches on the modules it needs.
- Move to a closer kind of business: when most of your work has become one kind, Kila suggests the kind of business built for it.
- Shops: how Kila works for a shop.
- Selling farm chemicals: the Farm chemicals rules.
- Features A to Z: what each module does.
