Step by step
Import products from a spreadsheet
Bring your whole product list in at once from a CSV file made from Kila's template. Kila imports the good rows and lists each problem row by its number, so you fix only those.
Type your products into a spreadsheet once, in Excel or Google Sheets, save it as CSV and Kila imports them all. Importing the same file again updates the products: “A SKU already in the catalog is updated, never duplicated.”
Download the template
Open Products › Import, or tap Import from a spreadsheet on your set-up checklist. Leave Products chosen and tap Download template. You get
kila-products-template.csv, with the columns and two example rows.Fill it in and save it as CSV
One product a row, over the example rows. Only sku, name and price are needed; the guide on the right says what each column takes. Save it as CSV: “Save the spreadsheet as CSV (comma separated). The first row must be the column names.”
Choose the file
Tap Choose file and pick your CSV. Kila shows its name and how many rows it has.
Tap Start import
“Import started: 10 rows. You can leave this page; it carries on in the background.” Kila counts the rows as it goes.
Read the report
When it finishes, Kila says how many rows are done and how many need attention, and lists each problem with its row number. “The other rows still import.”
Fix those rows and import the file again
Correct the rows Kila listed and import the whole file again: “rows already imported are not duplicated.” When every row goes in, Kila says Finished. Every row accounted for.

A row has a problem
Link to this section: A row has a problemKila names the row and the problem, word for word, such as:
Row 1 is the column names, so row 11 is the tenth product. Others you may see: Price "" is not a number., Name is empty., SKU … appears earlier in this file. Only the first row was imported. and Barcode … already belongs to ….
Kila does not start the import
Link to this section: Kila does not start the importIf a column Kila needs is missing, Kila says The import did not start: “The file is missing the columns name, price. Download the template to see the expected columns.” Check the first row of your file against the template.
Tip
In Excel, save with File › Save As and choose CSV (comma delimited). A file must be under 5 MB.
- Add your products: one product, field by field.
- Record your opening stock: the quantities on your shelves, with the same import.
- Move to Kila from another system or a daftari: customers, suppliers and balances too.
- Bring your products into Kila: the same list through Move to Kila.
Next: Record your opening stock.
