Run a tab
Ring the first round at the till and add it to a tab in the guest's name. Later rounds go on the same tab, and the guest pays once at the end.
Steps differ for businesses that sell alcohol.
A tab is a bill that is not at a table: a guest at the counter, a group standing in the lounge. Each round goes on it and leaves stock as it is served; the guest pays the whole tab once, when they leave. Kila numbers tabs each trading day.
Ring up the drinks
On the till’s Menu, tap the drinks as you would for a sale.
Tap Add to tab
Kila asks, for example, Add KES 1,400.00 to a tab: “Served now, paid later. It leaves stock now and is charged when the bill is paid.”
Confirm the ID check
For drinks with alcohol, look at the guest’s ID and tick I checked the customer’s ID: 18 or older: “Needed once per tab for alcohol.”
Name the tab and open it
Type the guest’s name and tap Open with this name. “Kila numbers tabs each trading day. A name you give is shown with the number, for example “John (Tab 5)”.” Kila says, for example, Added to Achieng (Tab 5): “KES 1,400.00 served. Achieng (Tab 5) is now KES 1,400.00.” The tabs already open are listed below the name, under Open tabs.
The next rounds

Pay the tab

Open tabs lists each tab with its total, such as “1 open, KES 1,780.00 to collect at The Vault, Woodvale Grove.” Tap the tab, then Charge KES 1,780.00: Kila opens Pay Achieng (Tab 5). Take the payment as for any sale. Kila says Order S-000208 complete, with the Change to give.
Kila Floor will not send a drink

Under Sell › Sales, Open tabs shows every tab open at every till: “Customers served now and paying later, live from every till. Each tab becomes a sale when it is paid.” It shows Open tabs now, To collect, Oldest open and Paid this trading day.
For businesses that sell alcohol
