Step by step
Enter marks
Open your mark sheet for an open exam, type each learner's mark, and Kila shows the level and saves each row by itself.
Each open exam has a mark sheet for every class and subject, allocated to the teacher who teaches it. You type the marks; Kila works out each learner’s level on the school’s scale and saves every row as you go, so nothing is lost if you stop half way.
Open your mark sheets
Choose Teaching › Mark sheets, or tap a sheet under Mark sheets open on My day. Each sheet shows the exam, its due date and how many marks are in, such as 0 of 16.
Type a learner's mark
Tap the sheet. Above the learners, Kila gives the scale, such as the KNEC eight-level scale (junior school), and says the exam is out of 100. Type the mark in the learner’s box.
Check the level
The level lights up from the mark, such as ME1 for 64 out of 100. Where a school grades by level, tap the level instead of typing a mark.
Press Enter for the next learner
“Type a mark and press Enter for the next learner; each row saves by itself.” A tick shows when a row is saved, and the count at the top goes up.
To fill a sheet from a spreadsheet, copy the column of marks and paste it into the first box: “Paste a column of marks from a spreadsheet into the first box.”
The sheet says Read only

A sheet is missing
Link to this section: A sheet is missingMark sheets lists the open exams for your classes and subjects only. When an exam is closed, no more changes are made; when it is published, the marks are on report cards and in the parent portal.
- Sign off report cards: the class teacher’s comments and the head’s sign-off.
- Teacher: your day, your registers and your marks.
Next: when your sheets are full, tell the deputy head; School today shows the teachers still entering.
