Bartender
Serve at the bar from Kila Floor on your phone and the bar's till. Run tabs, count the bar when your shift opens and closes, and close your own till shift.
A bartender serves at the bar, on Kila Floor and on the bar’s till, and runs a till shift of their own. Kila describes the role: “Serves at the bar, runs bills and their own shift, takes M-Pesa at the table, counts the bar (open bottles by tenths or weight) and switches drinks off when they run out. No discounts or refunds.”
When you sign in

Your day
Link to this section: Your day- Open your shift on the bar’s till: tap Till and count the float, as a cashier does. See Open a shift.
- Count the bar before you serve: the opening count. See Count the bar and read the variance.
- Serve. Ring up drinks on the till, and run tabs for guests who pay at the end: see Run a tab. Later rounds on a tab go from Kila Floor.
- Count the bar again when your shift ends: the closing count. Kila compares the two counts with what was sold.
- Close your shift: count the drawer and submit the count. See Close a shift.

Common questions

How do I count an open bottle? In tenths, from 0 to 10: 5 for half a bottle. Kila compares your opening and closing counts with what was sold and wasted between them.
Where do I see my tips? On Kila Floor, tap My shift at the top right: it shows your Tips. See Service charge and tips.
