Step by step
Choose a menu layout
Arrange Kila's menu for everyone in the business in one of four layouts, Classic, Hubs, Workspaces or Processes. Every layout has the same pages and the same access.
The menu layout is “How the menu is organised for everyone in the business. Every layout shows the same pages, with the same access rules; only the arrangement changes.”
| Layout | What Kila says it is |
|---|---|
| Classic | “The menu Kila has always had: Sell, Stock, Customers and services, Money, Administration.” Best for businesses already used to Kila. |
| Hubs | “About ten areas, each with an overview page, and every setting in one Settings centre.” Best for most businesses: “the shortest menu and the easiest to learn.” |
| Workspaces | “Each person works in the workspace for their job: front of house, back office, finance, management or admin.” Best for businesses with several roles: “cashiers see only what they need.” |
| Processes | “Organised by end-to-end flows: order to cash, procure to pay, record to report and more, each shown as steps.” Best for larger businesses, accountants and auditors. |
Open Business profile and find Menu layout
Each layout lists what will be at the top of the menu. The one in use says In use.
Choose the layout
Select it, such as Hubs.
Steps 2 and 3. Tap Use this layout
Kila says Menu layout saved: “Everyone in the business sees it the next time their screen refreshes. The change is in the audit log.”
See the new menu
Refresh the screen. In Hubs, the menu starts at Home and has areas such as Sell, Products and stock, Money and Settings.
To go back, choose Classic the same way.
Good to know
Help pages give each screen’s place in the Classic menu, such as Administration › Users and roles. In any layout, type the screen’s name in Kila’s search (Ctrl K) to go straight there.
Needs a manager
Only an owner changes the layout; everyone else sees the choices greyed out.
