Your day as class teacher in Kila, on your phone, from your class's register to marks, report card comments and your class's parents.

As class teacher you teach your subjects and keep your class: the daily register, the report card comments and the messages to your class’s guardians. Kila works on your phone, and the register works without a signal.

Kila opens My day. Registers and roll calls has your class’s register for today. Mark sheets open lists your classes and subjects in open exams, with how many marks are in. Further down, the card for your class (My class with its name) shows who is Absent today:, the report card comments still to write, and Message the class’s parents.

Your day

First thing. Tap your class under Registers and roll calls and mark who is not present: Take the register.
Marks. When an exam is open, tap a sheet under Mark sheets open, or All sheets for every one: Enter marks.
End of term. Tap the line with the report card comments to write, under your class. Saving a comment signs the card as class teacher, and the head teacher signs it off: Sign off report cards.

What needs a manager

Signing off report cards and sending them to guardians is the head teacher’s: see Head teacher.
Changing a learner’s details or a guardian’s phone is the admissions secretary’s or the office’s.
Fees are the fees office’s.

No approval limits: anything that needs approval goes to someone else.

Common questions

There is no signal in my classroom. Can I take the register? Yes. Take it as usual: Kila keeps it on the phone and sends it when the connection returns. See Take the register.

A register says Take it. What does that mean? It is still to take today. Once you save it, it shows Taken, or how many learners are absent.

Where do the report card comments go? Onto each learner’s report card, which becomes Class teacher signed. The head teacher then sees your class under Report cards to sign on School today.
