Set reps' beats and targets

Give each route its rep and visiting days, choose how often each beat runs, and set each rep's monthly targets for sales, collections and visits, and by principal or product.

A beat is the round of shops a rep visits: a route’s outlets, on the days the rep goes there. Kila builds each rep’s day on My route from their beats, and counts coverage (planned visits made) and strike rate (visits that sold something). Targets say what each rep should reach in the month; reps see them on their phone.

  1. Give each route its rep

In Field sales, open Reps’ routes. Each route shows its stops and the days it is delivered. Choose the rep in the list beside it.

  2. Tick the days the rep visits

Tick the days the rep goes there, such as Wednesday and Saturday for Kajiado and Isinya. There is no save button: each choice is kept at once. “With no days ticked, the rep visits on the route’s own days.”

  3. Choose how often each beat runs

Open Distribution › Beats and coverage: each rep’s week, then every beat with its rep, days, How often, outlets, coverage and strike rate. Tap a beat to choose How often it runs, weekly, every two weeks or monthly, with its First day, and to add Outlets on this beat beyond the route’s own stops. Tap Save: Beat saved.

  4. Set the month's targets

In Field sales, open Targets and choose the Month. For each rep type the Sales target (sales and orders), the Collections target and the Visits target. Beside each, Kila shows what the rep has reached so far.

  5. Tap Save targets

Kila says Targets saved. Reps see their targets under This month on My route.

  6. Set targets by principal or product

Open Distribution › Rep targets and commissions. Under Set a rep’s targets (“By principal (value), or by product (value or volume).”), choose the Rep, then add a Target for a principal, or a product with Or a product, with its value or volume. Tap Save targets. The list above shows what each rep reached of each.

Good to know

Commissions, on the same page, shows each rep’s target, what they reached and the commission it earns, at the rates set in Distribution settings: “Commission goes to payroll with Staff and attendance.”

Next: schemes from your principals help reps reach their targets: Run a trade scheme.
