Print or send a receipt

When a sale is complete, the till shows the receipt beside the change to give. Print it, send it to the customer, or both. The receipt carries your business’s details, the lines, the payments and, when the customer is on the sale, the points they earned.

Steps

1. Tap Print receipt

   The browser’s print window opens: choose the receipt printer. To keep a copy, choose Save as PDF instead. With a keyboard, P does the same.

2. Or tap Send receipt

   Kila opens Send with the receipt‘s number, such as Send S-000173.

3. Choose Email, SMS or WhatsApp

   When the customer is on the sale, their email or phone number is already filled in. Otherwise type it.

4. For SMS or WhatsApp, tick that the customer agreed

   Tick The customer agreed to get this receipt by SMS on this number. Kila uses the number only for receipts, and only with their agreement. Send stays grey until it is ticked.

5. Tap Send

   For email, Kila sends the receipt to the address. For SMS and WhatsApp, see below. Each receipt sent is listed under Sent before the next time you open Send.

Not available yet

SMS and WhatsApp are in test mode. They are not connected to a provider yet: Kila records the receipt as sent in test mode and nothing reaches the phone. Kila says, for example, S-000173 recorded in test mode. Print the receipt, or send it by email, when the customer needs it now.

eTIMS is in test mode too. The receipt‘s eTIMS part says ETIMS TEST MODE - NOT A VALID FISCAL RECEIPT and carries test eTIMS numbers.

Print or send it again later

Open the sale from Sales › All sales: search for its number, the customer, their phone or the M-Pesa code, and tap it. The sale‘s page has Print (6) and Send (7), the same as at the till, and its timeline lists each receipt sent.

What if

Send stays grey

For SMS or WhatsApp, tick that the customer agreed. For email, type the whole address, such as name@example.com.

The customer wants their receipts sent every time

When the customer is on the sale, Send also offers to Send Chebet Mwangi’s receipts here from now on. Kila records it as their consent for receipts, and they can withdraw it at any time.
