Fixing a problem
Above your discount limit
The discount on a line is more than your role may give on its own. Save the line and tap Ask for approval: someone whose limit covers it approves it, and your till carries on by itself.
What it means
Link to this section: What it meansEach role has a discount limit, a share of the line. When you open a line, Kila tells you yours, such as Your limit is 5% of the line. A bigger discount is not refused: it waits for someone whose limit covers it, and you cannot charge the sale until they decide.
What to do
Link to this section: What to do- Tap Save line.
- In the cart, under Above your discount limit, tap Ask for approval. Kila says “Sent for approval. Someone whose limit covers it approves it in Approvals or from their phone. This till updates on its own.”
- Tell the customer a manager is approving the discount. The cart says Waiting for approval….
- When the cart says Discount approved by and the approver’s name, tap Charge.
If you would rather not wait, tap the line and bring the discount within your limit.
Needs a manager
Someone with a higher discount limit, such as a branch manager or the owner, approves it in Approvals or from the link on their phone. The owner sets each role’s limit. See Approve or reject a request and Set approval limits for a role.
If it keeps happening
Link to this section: If it keeps happeningIf the same discount is given every day, it may belong in the price or a promotion rather than at the till. Ask the owner whether your role’s limit fits the work you do.
- Give a discount: discounts on a line, step by step.
- Discount not approved: when the approver says no.
- Your role cannot change prices: when the price itself is locked.
- Cashier: what a cashier does alone and what needs a manager.
