Livestock
A farm that raises animals for milk, meat or eggs. Kila records each animal by its tag, with its treatments and withdrawal periods, and keeps each herd or house as a cost centre.
A livestock farm keeps dairy cattle, goats, pigs or poultry. Kila runs it as a production business shaped like a farm: its branches are farms, and the animals come first.
What is special
Link to this section: What is special- Herds, animals and milk is in the Make menu, with the animals by tag, their treatments and withdrawal periods, and the milk by milking.
- Animals by tag is one of its set-up steps, after the herds and houses.
- The milk of an animal in its withdrawal period is withheld, and the rest goes into stock: see Record a milking. Each herd or house keeps its own costs: see Follow a field or herd’s costs.
No demo business runs as livestock; Kinangop Dairy Farm, a farm with a dairy herd, shows the same animal and milk screens under Fields, herds and milk.
