Find a product

The search box at the top of the till finds any product your branch sells, by name, code or barcode. With nothing typed, the categories under it let you browse.

Steps

1. Type part of the name or the code

   Type in the search box, “Scan a barcode or search by name or SKU”. A few letters are enough: maziwa shows every Maziwa Bora product. Each one shows its price and how many are in stock at your branch.

2. Tap the product

   One goes into the cart. Tap it again for another, or change the quantity in the cart.

3. Or scan the barcode

   The product goes straight into the cart and the search box empties, ready for the next one. Typing a product’s full code (SKU), such as TE-MAJ-500G, and pressing Enter does the same.

4. Or browse a category

   With the search box empty, tap Quick picks (the products your business chose for the till), All, or a category such as Dairy and eggs. Swipe the row of categories sideways to see the rest.

For businesses that sell by weight

Products sold by weight. Tapping one asks for the weight first, and a label printed by your scale scans like a barcode, with the weight in it. See Change quantities and sell by weight.

What if

Nothing matches

Kila shows:

Nothing matches "mandazi ya nazi"

Check the spelling, scan the barcode, or search by SKU.

Try fewer letters, another word from the name, or the code on the shelf label.

Kila does not know the barcode

Kila shows:

Nothing found for 6160000000017

No product has the code 6160000000017. Check the label or search by name.

Find the product by name and sell it. Then tell whoever looks after products, so they add the barcode to it in Products › Catalog.

There is not enough in stock

Kila shows:

Only 9 of Golden Fry vegetable oil 5L at Rongai

9 already in the cart.

Kila does not sell more than your branch has. Sell what is there. If the shelf has more than Kila shows, tell your manager: the stock needs counting.
