Features
Online store
A web shop for your business, where customers order for collection or delivery and pay by M-Pesa, with every order fulfilled from a branch.
Steps differ for General businesses.
The Online store is a public web shop for your business, at its own link. Customers browse your products, see prices and what is in stock, and order for collection at a branch or for delivery, paying by M-Pesa or, if you allow it, when they collect. Each order lands at the branch with its stock held, and staff complete it from its sale, so stock, VAT and the books move as for a counter sale.

Where to find it
Link to this section: Where to find it- Sell › Online store: “Orders placed on your shop. Pack them, then complete each one from its sale when the customer collects or receives it.” Your shop link and its QR code are on this page too.
- Administration › Online store settings: “Set up how customers shop with you online.” Here you open the shop (Shop open to customers), choose the branches for click and collect, offer delivery and decide how long stock is held for an order.
A new shop starts closed: the page says The shop is closed to customers until you open it in the settings.

- On from the start for Shop, Wholesale & distribution, Food & drink service, Stay and Production.
- Other businesses: the owner switches it on under Administration › Business profile, when the plan has it.
Where your kind of business includes it, it is on as soon as your plan has it; otherwise the owner switches it on under Administration › Business profile. See Switch a module on.
For General businesses
A General business switches it on in one step: on Business profile, under What your business does, switch on Online shop, which also switches on Delivery. See Add what your business does.

Order updates to customers by SMS and WhatsApp are in test mode: Kila records each one, and Online store marks it “(test mode)”, but nothing reaches the phone until a provider is connected. Email updates are sent.
Where your business sends M-Pesa prompts, paying by M-Pesa sends one to the customer’s phone. Until Kila’s M-Pesa connection is live (Integrations and API says Prompts not connected), no prompt goes: the store asks the customer to pay your till or paybill instead, such as ”… does not send M-Pesa prompts. Pay … with M-Pesa, and keep the M-Pesa message.” See Take M-Pesa.
- Delivery: getting orders to the customer’s door.
- Point of sale: where each order is completed.
