Practise in training mode
Switch the till to training mode from the menu under your name. Practice sales look and print like real ones but record nothing, and Stop training puts the till back.
Training mode is for learning the till, or trying something new, on the real till with the real products. A practice sale moves no stock and no money, nothing goes to the books or to eTIMS, and your shift is not touched.
Open the menu under your name and tap Training mode
Kila says “Training mode on: every sale is practice. Nothing is recorded for real.”
Check the banner
Across the top of the till: TRAINING - NOT A RECEIPT, “Training mode: practice sales only. No stock, money, books or eTIMS move, and nothing goes to KRA.” While it shows, the till only sells: no quotations, orders or returns, and your shift is out of the way.
Sell as usual
Find the products and tap Charge. Practice payments are Cash, M-Pesa and Bank transfer.
Read the practice receipt
Kila says Practice sale TR-0001: nothing was recorded, with the change to give. The receipt says TRAINING - NOT A RECEIPT at the top and the bottom, and can be printed for practice but not sent.
Tap Stop training when you finish
It is on the banner, and in the menu under your name as Stop training mode. Kila says Training mode off, “1 practice sale. The till sells for real again.” Your shift is back as it was.
Good to know
Practice sales leave no trace in your shift: the cash Kila expects in your drawer and the stock are the same after training as before.
