  1. Open Products › Categories and pricing, then Bulk price change

“Preview every new price before it applies. Prices round to the nearest step you choose.”

Steps 1 to 5 on one screen.
Bulk price change at Baraka Wines and Spirits (1): the brand Sunset Cellars (2), a change of 5% (3), rounded to the nearest 10 (4), and Preview new prices (5).Bulk price change at Baraka Wines and Spirits (1): the brand Sunset Cellars (2), a change of 5% (3), rounded to the nearest 10 (4), and Preview new prices (5).
  2. Choose the category or the brand

Choose a Category, a Brand or both. Preview new prices stays grey until you choose one.

  3. Type the change

A percentage, such as 5. “Use a minus sign to lower prices.”

  4. Choose how to round

In Round to: No rounding, Nearest shilling, Nearest 5, Nearest 10, Nearest 50 or Nearest 100.

  5. Tap Preview new prices

Kila lists every price that will change: here 2 prices will change, “+5%, rounded to the nearest 10.” Each product shows its price Now and New, and its Margin now and New margin.

Steps 6 and 7 on one screen.
2 prices will change, +5%, rounded to the nearest 10: Sunset Sweet Red 750ml from KES 1,150.00 to KES 1,210.00 and Sunset Sweet Rose 750ml from KES 1,200.00 to KES 1,260.00, with their margins (6), and Apply 2 prices (7).2 prices will change, +5%, rounded to the nearest 10: Sunset Sweet Red 750ml from KES 1,150.00 to KES 1,210.00 and Sunset Sweet Rose 750ml from KES 1,200.00 to KES 1,260.00, with their margins (6), and Apply 2 prices (7).
  6. Check the new prices

Nothing has changed yet. Tap Cancel to change the percentage or the rounding.

  7. Tap Apply

The button counts the prices, such as Apply 2 prices. Kila says Prices updated: “2 products changed by +5%. The change is in the audit log.”

The change is recorded under Products › Margins, Changes made, as a Bulk change with its number, its shelf labels to print, a PDF and Undo.

Changes made: the bulk change of the two Sunset Cellars wines by Peter Gitau, with Undo, Labels and Download PDF (8).Changes made: the bulk change of the two Sunset Cellars wines by Peter Gitau, with Undo, Labels and Download PDF (8).
Kila shows:

2 products would sell below cost

Check those lines before applying.

Kila marks them in the preview. Lower the percentage, or leave those products out by choosing a narrower category or brand.

Lowering prices takes products below their minimum margin

Link to this section: Lowering prices takes products below their minimum margin

If the owner has set minimum margins, the preview says, for example, 2 products would go below the minimum margin: “Each is marked with the lowest price that keeps its minimum. Applying asks for a reason, and owners are told.” Each line shows its minimum and the price it needs, such as min 18%, needs KES 1,118.

When you apply, Kila asks Why is this price lower?: “You can still save it. Owners are told, and the reason is kept in the audit log.” Type the reason and tap Save anyway, or Cancel.

Undo the record under Changes made: see Fix prices below the minimum.

Good to know

A price changed on the product itself is recorded too, but not undone from there: “Prices changed by hand are recorded for their shelf labels; change them back on the product.”

Next: Print shelf labels for the new prices.
