Step by step
Set working hours
Set the days and hours each person is due at work, so Kila can tell late from on time, and choose the business's attendance rules.
Kila tells late from on time, and absent from off, by the hours each person is due. Set them on the person’s record: the days they work and the time they start and finish. Change them whenever their shift changes. Kila keeps one week of hours per person; it has no rota that changes from week to week.
Open the person's record
Go to Customers and services › Staff and tap the person. Under Details, Working hours shows their days and times. Tap Edit.
Tick the days they work
Kila asks you to Edit details. Under Working hours: “Used to tell late from on time. Left empty, a linked resource’s hours or the branch’s trading hours apply.” Tick each day the person works. A day left unticked says Off.
Steps 2 to 4 on one form. Set the start and finish
Each ticked day has a start and a finish time. Type the time the person is due in and the time they finish.
Tap Save
Kila says Saved, and Working hours on the record shows the new week, such as Sat 06:30–12:30.
Everyone keeps the branch’s hours

You want to change when people count as late or absent
Link to this section: You want to change when people count as late or absentThat is for the whole business, set by the owner on the Settings tab of Staff. When someone is due is, at Shamba Fresh Foods, Their own working hours, else the branch’s trading hours. Late after (minutes) is the time allowed after the start, and Absent if nothing after (minutes) is when someone who has not come counts as absent. Change them and tap Save settings.
The same card sets how people clock in: Clock in from is An approved till or their phone or An approved till only, and switches such as Phone clock-ins need a manager’s approval, Typed-in attendance needs approval and Tell people who did not clock out, after closing.
Needs a manager
Only the owner, or someone whose role manages the business’s settings, sees the Settings tab. Whoever manages staff records can set a person’s working hours.
- Clock in and out: what each person does every day.
- Approve leave: days away count as leave, not absence.
- Run payroll: the month’s pay.
Next: pay the month in Run payroll.
