Step by step
Put the team on a project
Add the people who work on a project, and say who is responsible. Everyone who logs time must first be on your firm's team, with a rate.
A project’s team is the people working on it. Each of them sees the project on their My day, under My engagements (or projects), with Start for the timer. Whoever is responsible is reminded of every date on it.
Before you start
Link to this section: Before you startEveryone who logs time must be on your firm’s team, with the rate an hour is billed at. A manager adds them under the Team tab of Practice › Engagements: “The people whose time is logged, with what an hour is charged at and what it costs.” Add to the team asks for:
- Member of the business: “They log their own time when they sign in.” Choose No login for someone who never signs in, and a manager logs their time.
- Role, and Rate an hour (“Empty uses the role’s rate.”), Cost an hour, and Hours a week (“Empty uses 40.”), which utilisation is measured against.
Open the project and find its Team
Open the project from Practice › Engagements. On its first tab, the Team card lists who is on it. The lead is there already, marked responsible. Tap Add.
Choose the person
Under Person, choose someone in the business.
Choose how they are on it, then tap Add
Under As, choose On the team, or Responsible (reminded of every date). Tap Add. Kila says, for example: “Wanjiru Mwangi is on the engagement.”
Check the team
The Team card lists everyone on the project. To take someone off, tap the bin next to their name.
Someone cannot log time

Needs a manager
Adding people to a project, and to the firm’s team, is for managers: the owner, engagement partners and managers, project leads and property managers.
- Set a project’s budget and rates: which rate an hour is billed at.
- Record your time: the timer on My day and the week’s grid.
- Check your team’s utilisation: billable hours against each person’s hours a week.
Next: the team records their time: Record your time.
