Your role
Dental assistant
Your day as a dental assistant. You work chairside with the dentist, prepare the patient, and record their vital signs and history, without diagnoses or notes.
Kila describes the role: “Chairside with the dentist: prepares the patient, records what the dentist says, vital signs and history; no diagnoses or notes.” Among the clinical staff, a dental assistant is in the nurses’ group: you read a patient’s allergies, conditions and vital signs, never the dentist’s notes.
