Fixing a problem
… closed at …. A manager can keep it open later from the till.
The branch's trading hours for today have ended, and your business takes no sales outside them. A manager keeps the branch open late tonight from their till; then tap Complete sale again.
What it means
Link to this section: What it meansYour business has chosen to stop sales outside each branch’s trading hours, and this branch’s hours for today have ended. Kila does not complete the sale: nothing is sold and the payment stays on the screen until you complete it or take it off. The top of the till says so too, such as Head office closed at 18:00. Sales are stopped until it opens again.
On a day the branch does not trade, Kila says, for example, “Head office is closed today (Stock count). Sales are only taken during trading hours.” Before opening time, it gives the time the branch opens.
What to do
Link to this section: What to do- Read the message: it names the branch and when it closed. Tell the customer the branch has closed for today.
- If the sale should go ahead, ask a manager or the owner. On their till, at the top, they tap Open late tonight.
- They choose Close at, a time later tonight, and tap Open until …. Kila tells them, for example, Head office is open until 19:00: “For tonight only. The usual hours return tomorrow.”
- Tap Complete sale again. The sale goes through.
Needs a manager
Open late tonight shows on the till of people who manage shifts or the business’s settings, such as a branch manager or the owner. It changes tonight only. Kila tells the till staff that the branch is open late.
If it keeps happening
Link to this section: If it keeps happeningThe branch’s hours in Kila may not match the hours it really trades. The owner changes them under Administration › Settings, Trading hours. A business that sells after hours on purpose can switch off Stop sales outside trading hours there: “The till refuses new sales before opening and after closing. A manager can keep a branch open late from the till.”
- Set your business details, opening hours and tills: each branch’s hours, and the trading-day settings.
- Check the trading day: the day’s sales and cash by branch.
- Selling alcohol: licensed hours for alcohol are a separate rule.
