Shift not opened
The till you chose already has a shift open for someone else. Choose another till, or ask them to close their shift or hand it over to you.
What it means
Link to this section: What it meansA till has one shift at a time. Someone opened a shift on the till you chose, here just before you tapped Open shift, so Kila did not open yours. Once the till list catches up, it says Open for and their name.
What to do
Link to this section: What to do- Choose another till that says Free, count the float and tap Open shift with KES ….
- Or ask the person named to close their shift.
- Or, to take over their till with the cash in it, ask them to hand the shift over to you.
Needs a manager
If the person has left with their shift still open, a supervisor or branch manager closes it: only the cashier on a shift or a supervisor can. See Close a shift.
