Step by step
Take a roll call
Take a boarding house's morning or evening roll call, or a bus roll, from My day on your phone, and tell a route's guardians when the bus is late.
A roll call is a register for a boarding house or a bus: the matron or boarding master takes the house’s in the morning and the evening, and the transport officer takes each route’s morning and evening run.
Open the roll call from My day
On My day, under Registers and roll calls, tap the house and the session, such as Menengai House (girls) · Evening roll call · 13 learners.
Check the count and the marks
Everyone starts as present. A boarder out on a pass from the gate shows out on the pass number and starts as Excused.
Tap Save
Tap anyone who is not there to mark them Absent, Late or Excused, then tap Save. Kila says Saved, such as “13 learners, 0 absent.”
Morning roll call and Evening roll call sit side by side at the top: tap the other to switch.
The transport officer’s roll is a Bus roll: each learner shows their stop, with Morning run and Evening run at the top. It is taken the same way.
When the bus is late, tap Bus running late. Every guardian on the route gets the school’s text, and Kila says Guardians told, with how many guardians on the route were texted.

A house or route is missing from My day
Link to this section: A house or route is missing from My dayMy day shows the houses you are master or matron of, and the buses for those who take bus rolls. Houses, their matron, routes, stops and vehicles are set up under School life › Boarding and transport: “Dormitories and beds, routes and stops. Assign learners on their page; a route’s fee item is added to the learner’s optional fees.”
- Take the register: the class register, marked the same way.
- Let a learner out on a pass: leave-outs and exeats at the gate.
- Boarding master or matron and Transport officer.
Next: sign boarders back in at the gate when they return from a pass.
