Step by step
Tell the customer you are on the way
For work at the customer's site, book the visit for a technician or crew on the day board. The technician taps On my way, and Kila texts the customer.
Installers, contractors and cleaners go to the work. The job is taken in as Work at a site, with the address and a landmark, and booked for a technician or crew on the Day board. When they set out, the technician taps On my way on their phone and Kila texts the customer, so nobody waits at the gate wondering.
Take the job in as work at a site
On the Front counter, tap Take in. A business that works at sites sees Work at a site first under What is it. Choose the Visit (such as Emergency call-out), and give the Site address, the Landmark or directions and the Contact on site. See Take a job in.
Book it on the Day board
On the Day board (“Site visits by technician or crew. The crew marks on the way, arrived and done from My jobs.”), find the visit and tap Move. Set When.
Choose the technician or crew
Under Technician, choose who goes, then tap Move. Kila says Moved, such as “JOB-000065 booked for 31 Oct 2026, 09:00.”
The technician taps On my way
On My jobs on their phone, the visit shows the site address and landmark, a link to the map. When they set out they tap On my way. Kila texts the customer and says, for example, “Adhiambo Gitau told you are on the way.”
The technician taps Arrived
At the site they tap Arrived: “Arrived at JOB-000065.” Then Start for the clock, and Done when the work is finished.
Follow it on the Day board
Each visit shows how the crew reported it: Booked, On the way, On site or Done, and Late when it has not started on time. The counts at the top say how many visits there are, how many are On site now and how many are Late to start.

SMS is in test mode: Kila records the text in its message log, but nothing reaches the customer’s phone until an SMS provider is connected. Until then, call the customer when you set out: their number is on the visit.
The technician has no signal
