Step by step
See stock as of a date
Stock as of shows what a branch held at the end of any past day, and what it was worth, rebuilt from the movement ledger.
For a month end, an audit or a question about last week, Kila rebuilds a branch’s stock as it stood at the end of a chosen day, “whatever has happened since”, from the ledger of every movement.
Open Stock as of
Open Stock › Inventory › Stock as of: “Rebuilt from the movement ledger, so it shows exactly what the books said was on the shelf at the end of that day, whatever has happened since.”
Choose the branch
Choose it under Branch. Kila rebuilds one branch at a time.
Choose the day
Choose the date under End of day, such as the last day of a month. Kila counts every movement up to the end of that day.
Read the figures
The cards show the Units on that day, the Value then (“At the cost each movement carried”), the Products in stock then and the Units now. Each product shows what it held On hand that day and its Value then, what it holds On hand now, the Change since and how many Movements since.
Good to know
“Quantities include stock held in quarantine or as damaged on that day. Movements dated later, including backdated ones recorded afterwards, are not counted.”
Tip
Export CSV saves the day’s figures for your books, with columns such as On hand 2026-09-30 and Value 2026-09-30 (KES).
