Hire purchase
The customer takes the goods home after a deposit and pays over time, and the business owns them until the last instalment, with every step on record.
Hire purchase lets a customer take goods home, such as a TV, a fridge or a motorbike, after a deposit and pay the rest in instalments, while the business keeps ownership until the last payment. Because the business gives credit and keeps the goods’ title, Kila starts new agreements only once your licence, legal review and contract template are recorded, and it keeps every step on record: consent, the contract version, acceptance, the goods handed over and the transfer of ownership at the end.

- On from the start for Shop.
- It becomes active once the business has: hire-purchase licence recorded and valid, contract terms reviewed by a Kenyan advocate and agreement template approved.
Hire purchase comes with the Enterprise plan, which Kila’s sales team arranges. Then the owner records three things under Administration › Settings, on the Compliance tab: the Hire-purchase licence (its number and expiry date), Contract terms reviewed by a Kenyan advocate and Agreement template approved. “Hire purchase, partner BNPL and eTIMS stay off until their records are complete.”
On the Enterprise plan. Enterprise is arranged with Kila’s sales team.
