Step by step
Tell the customer a job is ready
When the work is done and checked, Kila tells the customer it is ready and what is due. Remind them, or give a new time, from the front counter.
A job is ready when the technician has finished it and someone else has checked it. At that moment Kila marks it Ready, and with Text the customer when ready on in Job settings, it texts the customer that the job is ready to collect and what is due. Nobody has to remember to call.
The technician taps Done
On My jobs, the technician taps Done when the work is finished. The job goes to the checker, not to the customer: Kila says, for example, “JOB-000102 is waiting for the bench test before ready.” and the job shows With the bench test before ready.
The checker taps Pass
On Quality checks (“Work the technicians say is done, oldest first.”), the checker tests the item and taps Pass. Kila says Passed: “JOB-000102 passed and is ready. Customer texted at +254778134491.” The job moves to Ready.
Find it under Ready to collect
On the Front counter, the job is under Ready to collect, “Waiting longest first”, with what is due and when the customer was last texted, such as Reminded just now.
Remind the customer, if they have not come
Tap Remind on the job. Kila texts them again and says “Reminder sent to +254778134491.” On the job board the same is Remind the customer to collect, in the job’s menu.
Not available yet
SMS is in test mode: Kila records each text, and the job card’s history keeps it, such as “Collection reminder sent to +254778134491.”, but no SMS reaches the customer’s phone until an SMS provider is connected. Until then, call the customer: their number is on the job.
The check fails

The job will be late
Link to this section: The job will be lateOn the Front counter, under Promised today (“Late ones first: tell the customer before they call.”), tap Tell the customer on the job. Set Ready by and, if you like, Why. Leave the box Text … the new time ticked (it names the customer) and tap Save and text. Kila confirms the new time it promised and adds “Customer texted.”
Good to know
With Second check before collection on in Job settings, “Someone other than the person who finished the work checks it before it is handed over.” A technician never passes their own work.
