How it works
Your plan and billing
What your Kila plan includes and how much of it you use, how the free trial works, how to change plan, and the invoices Kila sends your business.
Plan and modules shows “What your subscription includes, how much of it you use, and which modules are switched on.” Owners see the price and Kila’s invoices too.
The plans
Link to this section: The plansKila has four plans. Each includes everything in the one before it; prices are a month, plus VAT.
| Plan | A month | Branches | Users | Tills | Active products | Sales per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | KES 2,500 | 2 | 5 | 3 | 1,000 | 3,000 |
| Business | KES 7,500 | 6 | 30 | 12 | 10,000 | 15,000 |
| Growth | KES 14,500 | 12 | 50 | 24 | 50,000 | 60,000 |
| Enterprise | Through sales | From 25 | From 100 | From 50 | From 200,000 | From 500,000 |
Your plan and the trial
Link to this section: Your plan and the trialThe top of the page shows the Current plan, what it is for, and its state: Trial during the free trial, then Active. Beside it are the price, This period, and the day the Trial ends, or the day the plan Renews. During the trial the set-up checklist says when it runs until: “Everything you set up stays when you subscribe.”
Limits and usage
Link to this section: Limits and usage“Effective limits for this business, from the plan and any agreed changes.” Each limit shows how much is in use, such as users or tills, and how many are left. A business above a limit after changing plan sees what is over: nothing is deleted, and adding more waits until it is within the plan.
Your modules lists the modules switched on, by area. Select one to see its features, each On or Off: “Feature switches are managed by Kila. Ask your account manager to change one.” Not on your plan lists the rest, with the plans that have each one: “For information only. These are not available to this business; ask Kila if you would like one added.”
Changing plan
Link to this section: Changing planAsk Kila. A change can start straight away or at the end of the period; until then the page says Moving to the new plan and when: “Your current plan and its limits apply until then.” Recent module changes and Subscription history list every change.
Kila’s invoices
Link to this section: Kila’s invoicesKila invoices: “What this business pays for Kila. Select an invoice to see its lines.” During the trial there are none. Each invoice has its period, due date, total and what is paid. An open one has Pay: by card, “Pay by Visa or Mastercard through Paystack.”, or by M-Pesa, with Send M-Pesa prompt to your phone, or “Lipa na M-Pesa, Paybill” with the invoice number as the account, which “Kila applies to this invoice by itself”. Until Kila’s M-Pesa connection is live, Pay offers the card only.
Good to know
If an invoice goes unpaid, the page says Payment is overdue: “Pay the open invoice to keep every module running. Records stay safe either way.”
Needs a manager
The price and invoices show to owners, and to auditors, who only read them; only an owner pays. An administrator sees the plan, its limits and modules.
- Your business profile: the modules your kind of business uses, within your plan.
- Add a user: when the plan’s users are all in use.
- Integrations and API: the API comes with Growth and Enterprise.
- Features A to Z: every module and the plans that have it.
