Step by step
Run a trade scheme
Set up a principal's discount, free goods, quantity slabs, bundle or outlet target with its dates, budget and outlets. Kila applies it when orders are taken and keeps what the principal owes you for the claim.
Principals often pay for promotions in the market: a percentage off, a free bale for every ten, a better price for more. A trade scheme puts one into Kila. While it runs, every order that qualifies gets it, on the order desk, a rep’s phone or the van, until its budget is given away. What the principal funds becomes your claim against them.
Open Trade schemes
Distribution › Trade schemes lists every scheme: what kind it is and which products and outlets it covers, who funds it and their share, its dates, how much has been Given against its budget, what is Claimable from the principal, and whether it is running.
Tap New scheme
Give it a Name your reps will recognise.
Choose the kind
Kind is Discount, Free goods, Quantity slabs, Bundle (combo) or Outlet target rebate. The offer fields below change with it: a percentage or an amount off each unit; what the outlet buys and what it gets free; a percentage off from each quantity; the bundle’s products and price; or the value an outlet must buy for its rebate.
Choose who funds it
In Funded by, choose the principal, or leave it as you. Their share (%) fills in from the principal: “What you claim back from them”.
Set the dates and the budget
Set From and To, and a Budget (KES): “It stops applying once given away.” Choose the Status: Draft while you prepare it, Running to start it.
Set the offer, the products and the outlets
Fill in the offer, such as Percentage off. Under Products, add the products it covers; with none chosen it covers all of the principal’s. Tick the Outlet channels it is for, or none for every outlet.
Tap Save
Kila says Scheme saved. A draft waits in the list; tap Run to start it, Pause to stop it for a while, or End.
How a running scheme shows
Link to this section: How a running scheme showsOn the order desk, a product’s line shows the schemes it qualifies for, such as 5% off on a crate of soda for a minimart, and Kila takes it off the order’s price when the order is taken. See Take an order at the order desk.
Good to know
A scheme funded by a principal is claimed back from them: the claim is built from the invoices that had the scheme. See Claim from a principal.
Next: when the scheme has run, claim from the principal.
