How it works
The shop beside the forecourt
The forecourt shop has its own till and cashier, and cannot sell pump fuel. Attendants sell shop goods, lubricants and car washes on their own shift on the forecourt device.
A fuel station sells more than fuel: drinks and snacks, lubricants, LPG refills, car care and car washes. Kila keeps one rule between the pumps and the shop: fuel sells only on a shift that holds a nozzle of it. Everything else sells wherever someone is on shift.
Who sells where
Link to this section: Who sells where- The shop till. The forecourt shop’s cashier, Lucy Wanjiku at Highway Petrol Station, sells on the Shop till on a shift of her own, like any shop’s cashier: see Cashier.
- The car wash till. The car wash attendant sells the washes on the Car wash till: see Car wash attendant.
- Each attendant’s forecourt till. Every attendant has a till of their own, such as Forecourt: Kevin Mutua. On the forecourt device they sell fuel and, under Car wash, lubricants and shop, the rest: see Sell on the forecourt device.
The shop till does not sell pump fuel
Link to this section: The shop till does not sell pump fuelThe shop till lists the fuels with everything else, and asks how much as at the pumps: “Sell Diesel” by amount or by litres. But the shop’s shift holds no nozzle, so the sale is not completed:
Send the customer to the pumps. If you already took the money, tap Back to cart, then Clear: Kila asks first, “KES 2,000.00 is already paid toward this sale”. Choose Give it back, “Hand back KES 2,000.00 in cash.”, hand the money back, tick I have given back KES 2,000.00 and tap Given back, clear the cart.
The forecourt sells shop goods
Link to this section: The forecourt sells shop goodsAn attendant sells a litre of engine oil, a soda or a car wash on their own shift, on the forecourt device: search or scan it under Car wash, lubricants and shop and take the payment as for fuel. It is counted in their cash-up with the rest of their takings.
A fleet account may pay for fuel only. Then Kila refuses the shop goods on the vehicle’s account:
Take cash, M-Pesa or a card for it instead.
Good to know
The shop’s stock, from drinks to LPG refills and lubricants, is counted, reordered and received like any shop’s. See Shops.
