Step by step
Sell a gift voucher and take one as payment
Sell a gift voucher from the menu under your name, give the customer its code, and take it as payment like cash or M-Pesa. What is left stays on the voucher.
A gift voucher is money paid in advance and owed to whoever holds it, until it is spent. Kila gives each voucher its own code, keeps its balance, and takes it as payment at the till.

Good to know
The money for a gift voucher is owed to the holder until it is spent, so it is not counted as sales. Sales › Gift vouchers shows “What the business owes holders of its gift vouchers, each one’s history, and the rules.”
- Take more than one payment on a sale: a voucher and cash on one sale.
- Print or send a receipt: after the payment.
Next: keep the printed voucher’s code safe: Kila cannot show it again.
