Your role
Forecourt supervisor
Run the forecourt on your shift. Open the attendants' shifts and cash them up from the meters, receive their drops, dip the tanks and receive the tankers.
A forecourt supervisor runs the forecourt on their shift: the attendants and their cash, the meters, the tanks and the tankers. Kila describes the role: “Runs the forecourt device, opens and cashes up attendants’ shifts with their readings, drops and shortages, takes dips and receives deliveries. No pump prices, credit limits or write-offs.” At Highway Petrol Station, Joseph Wambua runs the day and Faith Ndunge the night.

Open an attendant’s shift
Link to this section: Open an attendant’s shiftOpen Forecourt › Attendants and cash-ups. As the page says, “Pump attendants sign in on the forecourt device with their PIN. Supervisors open their shifts, receive drops and cash them up by tender.”
- Under Attendants, tap Open shift on the attendant’s row.
- Kila asks you to Open Peter Kioko’s shift: “The opening readings are the nozzles’ last closing readings; type the meter only if it shows something else.” Tick each nozzle the attendant works (3). If a meter shows something else, type what it shows.
- Tap Open shift (4). Kila says Peter Kioko is on shift SH-…, and under On shift now the shift says (opened by a supervisor).
A nozzle on someone else’s shift is not offered. If every nozzle is taken, Kila says so: “Every nozzle is on a shift. The attendant can take nozzles later.”

Needs a manager
- Writing off a shortage. You decide what happens to a shortage at its review, but a write-off above your limit is the station manager’s.
- Pump prices. Pump prices has no Set prices for you: the station manager sets them. See Change pump prices.
- The forecourt’s settings, tanks and pumps. On Settings, Kila says: “Only someone who manages the settings changes these.” The tanks, pumps and nozzles are the owner’s.
- Credit limits. The fleet and credit controller sets them on the fleet account’s customer.
Common questions
Link to this section: Common questionsAn attendant forgot their PIN. What do I do? Open their shift yourself on Attendants and cash-ups. Once they are on shift, the forecourt device signed in as you opens their shift without the PIN. For a new PIN, tap Edit on their row: under New PIN, “4 digits, not repeated or running digits. The attendant types it on the forecourt device.”
Why is a nozzle missing when I open a shift? It is on another attendant’s shift. Cash that attendant up first, or let the new attendant take it later.
A tanker came short. Who claims it? Kila works the claim out when you record the delivery: the litres short beyond the tolerance, at the cost. When the supplier’s credit note comes, record it on the claim. See Record a fuel delivery.
