What Insights shows

Insights puts together what the business made, where the money went and what needs your attention, with how each figure was worked out.

Find it
Insights, or search insights in Kila

Your home page says how today is going. Insights steps back: “What the business made, where the money went and what needs your attention, with how each figure was worked out.” It is at the top of Kila’s menu, under Dashboard.

Overview opens first, for the Whole business or one branch:

  • Morning brief (1): yesterday against a normal day of the same kind, for the business and each branch. “Yesterday against a normal Thursday: the average of the same weekday over the last eight weeks the business traded.”
  • Net profit, Gross profit and Growth from trading for the month so far.
  • Money in each account today, from the books, and Safe to take out (2): “Money in your money accounts, less supplier bills due within 30 days, less monthly costs for the rest of the month, less what it costs to restock what was sold since the last delivery at today’s prices. Never below zero.”
  • Needs attention: the findings, “most money first”.

Kila checks the business and lists what it finds, each with the money at stake: a promotion that is not paying for itself, M-Pesa or bank money with no matching sale, stock that has not sold, a product out of stock that sells well. Each finding has a button to deal with it, such as Review the promotion or Open reconciliation.

  • The working (3) shows the figures the finding rests on.
  • Seen (4) marks it as read. Done marks it as dealt with.
  • Dismiss takes it off the list, and asks why: “Why? It helps judge the checks.”
  • Mute stops that kind of finding showing to you.

Check again runs the checks now.
