Step by step
Record owner money
Record money the owner puts into the business or takes out for themselves. It is neither a sale nor an expense, so profit does not change, and the account's balance stays true.
When the owner puts their own savings into the business, or takes money out for school fees or rent at home, the business’s account changes but the business has not earned or spent anything. Record it as owner money, so the balance is right and the profit stays true.
