Point of sale

The till and everything around a sale, from shifts and cash-ups to receipts, returns, quotations, orders and promotions.

Find it
Sell, then Point of sale, or search point of sale in Kila

Point of sale is the till. A cashier scans or finds what the customer buys, takes cash, M-Pesa, card or a bank transfer, and hands over the receipt, while Kila takes the goods off the stock and records the money with its VAT. Around the sale it runs shifts and cash-ups, returns, quotations, orders, promotions and the devices that sell.

  • Part of the set-up for Shop, Wholesale & distribution, Food & drink service, Stay, Appointments, Fitness & memberships, Jobs & repair, Professional services, Health care, Production, Education, Logistics & field and General.

Every business has it: it is how money comes into Kila, and job cards, bookings and online orders end in a sale on it.

  • Sell › Point of sale: the till.
  • Sales › Shifts: “Every till session with its float, takings and count. Shifts that closed off balance wait here for review.”
  • Sales › Quotations: “Prices held for a customer until a date. Convert one at the till when the customer is ready.”
  • Sales › Orders: “Orders hold agreed prices and reserve stock at the branch until the customer collects or the goods are delivered.”
  • Sales › Returns: “Every return carries its reason, its refund and, where eTIMS is on, a fiscal credit note.”
  • Sales › Promotions: “Discounts that apply by themselves at checkout when the customer, branch, channel, day and time fit.”
  • Administration › Till devices: “The phones, tablets and computers that sell for the business.”

Point of sale is part of every kind of business and every plan, so it is on from the day the business signs up. There is nothing to switch on: the first branch and its till are ready when sign-up finishes.
