Hotel › Housekeeping shows every room as the desk sees it and as housekeeping left it. Each day’s cleaning is a task per room; the executive housekeeper gives the tasks out on the Board, and each room attendant works through My rooms on their phone.

  1. Open the board

Every room is a tile, floor by floor. Each says what the desk shows (Occupied, Vacant, Due out, Arriving or Out of order), how the room is (Dirty, Clean or Inspected), today’s task and how far it is (To do, Cleaning, Done, Inspected), with the attendant’s initials. Across the top, each attendant’s day: for example “7 of 8 done · 30 min left”.

  2. Choose the rooms

Tap each room to give out (1), or Select the floor. The bar at the bottom names the rooms chosen, such as 1 room: 302.

  3. Choose the attendant and tap Assign

Choose the attendant (2) and tap Assign (3). Kila says, for example, 1 room given to Esther Chebet. The room is now on the attendant’s phone.

  4. The attendant starts and finishes the room

On My rooms the attendant sees their rooms for today, how long is left (“About 1 h left”) and, for each room, the task and its minutes. They tap Start (4) when they go in and Done when it is finished; Kila says Room 302 done. Do not disturb leaves the room for later.

Esther Chebet's My rooms on her phone: 7 of 9 done, about 1 h left, room 101 where she found someone staying, and room 302, Clean (vacant), To do, with Start (4) and Do not disturb.Esther Chebet's My rooms on her phone: 7 of 9 done, about 1 h left, room 101 where she found someone staying, and room 302, Clean (vacant), To do, with Start (4) and Do not disturb.
  5. Inspect the room

Back on the board the room shows Done. Tap it and tap Inspected (5). The room is Inspected and ready for the next guest; the front desk sees it as ready.

Good to know

On My rooms the attendant also has Found an item and Report a fault on each room. In a room the desk shows empty, they tap Someone is staying in this room if they find a guest’s things: “You found someone staying here: the front desk is told.” Rooms found otherwise than the desk shows are listed on Found different and among the night audit’s checks.

Kila says under the bar: “Rooms without a task today are not assigned: make the day’s tasks first, or add one.” Tap Make tasks to make them.

Choose the vacant room and tap Out of order. Take room 204 out of order asks Why and, if you know it, when it is Back in order on (“The room can be sold from this date.”). When it is fixed, choose it and tap Back in order.

Next: the next morning, the board starts again with the day’s departures and stays.
