Sign on duty

Kila keeps one pharmacist on duty at each branch at a time. While nobody is on duty, the tills there refuse the medicines that need a pharmacist, unless a pharmacist approves them at the till: Kila then signs that pharmacist on. At Dawa Bora Chemists, Dr. Brian Otieno is on duty at Tom Mboya Street in the mornings and Dr. Amina Hassan takes over in the afternoon.

Steps

1. Open On duty, refills and owings

   Open Pharmacy › On duty, refills and owings. The Pharmacy counter shows, under Pharmacist on duty: “Prescription and pharmacy medicines are sold only while a pharmacist is on duty at the branch.” Each branch shows who is on duty, with their registration number and since when: “Dr. Brian Otieno (PPB/P/6608), Pharmacist since …”.

2. Tap Sign on duty, or Take over

   At your branch, tap Sign on duty, or Take over when someone else is on duty. Kila says “Dr. Amina Hassan is on duty (PPB/P/7215).” The pharmacist you took over from is no longer on duty.

3. Tap Sign off when you leave

   When your time is up, tap Sign off. Kila says “Dr. Amina Hassan is off duty.” and the branch shows Nobody on duty, with Sign on duty for the next pharmacist.

What if

There is no Sign on duty button

Only a pharmacist signs on. Kila tells everyone else: “Only a pharmacist (a Pharmacist or Pharmaceutical technologist with their PPB registration number recorded under Users) signs on duty.” Ask the owner to give you the Pharmacist or Pharmaceutical technologist role and to record your PPB registration number: Add a user.

The till refuses a medicine because nobody is on duty

Someone signed off and nobody signed on. Sign on, then ask the till to tap Complete sale again, or approve at the till yourself: Sell a medicine that needs a pharmacist.
