Step by step
Give an item on the house
A comp keeps the item on the bill at its price, marked Complimentary, with nothing to pay. A waiter asks a manager; a manager gives it at once.
A comp is an item the house gives free: a birthday cake, a drink for a long wait. Kila keeps it on the bill and the receipt at its price, marked Complimentary, and the customer pays nothing for it. Taking an item off the bill is for mistakes only.
Open the bill and tap Comp an item
On Kila Floor, open the table’s bill. A waiter’s button says Comp an item (ask): “A manager approves comps. Your request goes to their Approvals and phone.”
Choose the item and why
Tap the item. Under Why, tap a reason, such as Birthday or celebration, or type your own under Or say why.
Tap Ask a manager
Kila says Sent to a manager: “They approve it in Approvals or from their phone. This screen carries on by itself.” The bill shows Waiting for a manager… until they decide.
Carry on when it is approved
Kila says, for example, 1 × Chocolate cake slice on the house. The item stays on the bill with its reason and who approved it, such as Complimentary: Birthday or celebration · David Otieno, and the bill‘s total comes down.
Needs a manager
The general manager gives a comp in their own right: their button says Comp an item, and the dialog’s button gives it at once, such as Give KES 200 free.
Everything on the bill is complimentary
Link to this section: Everything on the bill is complimentaryThere is nothing to pay. On the till, the bill says how many items are complimentary, such as 2 complimentary (KES 600). Tap Close: all complimentary. Kila says the bill is closed: “All on the house: the receipt shows each item as complimentary.”
See every comp
Link to this section: See every compThe owner and managers find every comp under Kitchen and floor › Comps: “Items given free: kept on the bill and the receipt at their price with nothing to pay. By reason, by who served them and by who approved them.” Each row shows the item, its price and cost, why, who served it and who approved it, and whether the bill is paid.
- Split, move or merge a bill
- Close the night: comps on the End of day.
