Step by step
Remind a client about overdue invoices
The Clients tab shows what each client owes and how long it is overdue. Send an overdue client a reminder by SMS or email in one tap.
Clients pay on account, and often late. The Clients tab puts the money side of each client in one row: their active projects, what is unbilled, what they owe, what is overdue and since when, and the tax they have withheld.
Open the Clients tab
Open Practice › Engagements (Projects in most firms) and tap Clients. At the top: Owed, Overdue (and how many clients), Due in 7 days and Unbilled.
Find the client and send the reminder
Search for the client, or read down the Overdue column: the amount overdue and the days since the oldest invoice fell due, such as 79d. Tap SMS or Email in their row.
Read the result
Kila says who it sent the reminder to, and for how much:
Not available yet
SMS is in test mode until an SMS provider is connected: Kila keeps each SMS reminder in the message log, but it does not reach the client’s phone yet. Use Email to reach the client today.
The reminder fills in the firm’s message. At Mizani Associates it reads: “Dear {client}, our invoices of {amount} are {days} days overdue. Kindly arrange payment. Thank you, {business}.”
Needs a manager
The owner chooses the channels and writes the message under Settings on the same page, in Overdue reminders and withholding tax: Reminders go by and Reminder message, where “{client}, {amount}, {days}, {invoices} and {business} are filled in.”
- Record a withholding tax certificate: the Withholding button in the same row.
- Invoice unbilled time and expenses: what makes the invoices.
Next: when a client pays net of tax: Record a withholding tax certificate.
