Your role
Caregiver
Your day as a caregiver in Kila, checking the children of your room in and out to the adults allowed to collect them, and keeping their day sheet.
As a caregiver you look after your room: you check the children in and out, only to the adults allowed to collect them, and keep each child’s day sheet, which their parent sees in the parent portal. Checking a child in also marks them present on the day’s register.
When you sign in
Link to this section: When you sign inKila opens Check-in: “Tap a child to check them in or out, or to add to their day sheet.” The rooms are tabs at the top, each with how many children it has, such as Babies (6 to 18 months). Under the room’s name, Kila counts the children in now and how many caregivers the room needs at the centre’s ratio.
Your day

- Through the day. Tap a child who is in and note meals, naps, nappies and their mood on the day sheet, with a note for the parent if you like.
- Going home. Choose the parent or the listed adult in front of you and check the child out. The parent gets a text, and the day sheet is in their portal.
All three are in Check children in and out.

Why does the room say more caregivers are needed? Kila works it out from the children in now and the centre’s ratio, such as 1 to 5.
