Fixing a problem
SH-… was not counted
Kila closed a shift that was still open after the branch closed, and nobody has counted its drawer yet. Count the drawer as you open the next shift on that till: the one count closes the old shift and becomes your float.
What it means
Link to this section: What it meansYour business has Kila close tills left open after closing. A shift on this till was still open when the branch closed, so Kila closed it as Count pending. Kila does not guess the cash: no count was made, so no difference is posted yet. That shift’s cash is still in the drawer in front of you, so your opening count is its count too.
What to do
Link to this section: What to do- Read the message: it names the shift Kila closed, whose it was and when.
- Choose the till. It says Count pending.
- Count every note and coin in the drawer, and type how many of each.
- Tap Open shift with KES ….
- Read what Kila says, such as “Float KES 2,000.00. You can start selling. The same count closed SH-000009, balanced.” If the count differs from the cash the books expected for the old shift, Kila says by how much, and a supervisor reviews it.
Needs a manager
A supervisor can count the drawer from the shift instead. In Sales › Shifts, open the shift: it says Closed by Kila: the drawer is still to be counted. Tap Record the count.
If it keeps happening
Link to this section: If it keeps happeningClose each shift before the branch closes: count the drawer and tap Close shift. The owner sets when branches close, and whether Kila closes tills left open, under Administration › Settings, Trading hours: Close tills left open after closing.
- Close a shift: the count at the end of your shift.
- Open a shift: choosing a till and counting the float.
- Review a shift: when a count is short or over.
- Set your business details, opening hours and tills: each branch’s hours.
