Garage & auto repair

A garage takes vehicles in by their plate, with a walk-around, and has pages for bays and lifts, insurance claims and gate passes.

A garage services and repairs vehicles: customers’ cars, company fleets and insurance repairs. Kila runs it as a workshop, with the vehicle at the centre of each job.

  • Vehicles come first. In Take a job in, a garage sees Vehicle first. Find the vehicle in the register fills in its details from its plate; otherwise you record the Registration, Mileage, VIN or chassis number, Fuel level, the Customer’s complaint, Warning lights on, Valuables and items left in the car, Spare wheel and tools and what to do with the Old parts, and put it on a Bay or lift.
  • Vehicles in the menu: “Every vehicle the garage has worked on, by plate and VIN, with its owner and its jobs.”
  • Bays and lifts: “Which job is on which bay. Put a job on a bay at intake or on its job card.”
  • Insurance claims: “Vehicles repaired on an insurer’s claim.” The insurer’s share goes on its account when the vehicle is collected.
  • Gate pass check: “A vehicle leaves only on a pass issued at collection.”

The menu section is Workshop. At the demo garage, IA Motors, Stephen Mutua is the workshop controller, who gives each car its bay and mechanic, and Hassan Abdi does the quality checks.
