Step by step
See your stock on hand
Stock on hand shows what each branch holds, what is free to sell, what is running low and what it is worth at cost.
Stock on hand answers “is it in stock, and where?” for every product your branches keep: what is on the shelf, what is promised, what is on the road and what it is worth.
Open Stock on hand
In the menu, open Stock › Inventory › Stock on hand. Kila opens it for all the branches you work in, with the other stock pages in the tabs along the top.
Read the totals
The cards add up the list below them: Stock value at cost (with the number of units), Products in stock, Low on stock (At or below reorder point), Out of stock and In transit (Counts once received). Tap Low on stock, Out of stock or In transit to list only those products. With all branches chosen, Stock value by branch compares your branches.
Choose a branch
Choose a branch in the branch list, or keep All branches. To find one product, type in Product, SKU or barcode; to see one kind, choose a category.
Show what is low
Tap Low to list the products at or below their reorder point. The other buttons list In stock, Out, In transit, Held back and Consignment, and All brings everything back.
Read a product's line
Each line shows:
- On hand: everything at the branch, including stock held back.
- Reserved: held for orders and transfers.
- Available: on hand less what is reserved and held back. This is what you can sell.
- Held back: in quarantine or damaged.
- In transit: on its way to the branch. It counts there once the branch receives it.
- Consignment: owned by the supplier, and paid for once sold.
- Unit cost and Value: what the stock cost, at average cost unless your business values stock first in, first out (FIFO).
The last column says where the product is running low. For all branches, Low at names the branches where it is low by their codes, such as NJR, and otherwise shows what each branch has available, such as NKR 27 · NJR 10. For one branch, Reorder at shows the reorder point, Low (25) when the product is at or below it, and Out when the branch has none left to sell.
Open a product for more
Tap a line to open the product: On hand, all branches, Available to sell and the Stock by branch tab with each branch’s stock and reorder point.
Tip
Export CSV saves the list exactly as you have filtered it, such as one branch’s low products.
Unit cost and Value show KES 0.00
Link to this section: Unit cost and Value show KES 0.00Your role does not see costs. Kila shows what stock cost only to people who buy, price or value it, such as the owner, a branch manager or an accountant. A storekeeper sees the same quantities, with KES 0.00 where the costs would be. Ask the owner if your work needs them.
A product is on the shelf but not available
Link to this section: A product is on the shelf but not availableSome of it is reserved or held back. Reserved stock is promised to an order or a transfer, and Held back stock is in quarantine or damaged. Neither counts as available. Tap Held back to list the products with stock held back.
Stock sent from another branch is not here yet

Nothing shows under Low
Link to this section: Nothing shows under LowKila says “Nothing is below its reorder point. Every shelf is covered.” A product only counts as low when it has a reorder point, so a product without one never shows here.
- Check stock movements: every unit in or out, and who recorded it.
- Reorder stock: what Kila suggests buying for the products that are low.
- Transfer stock between branches: send stock from a branch that has it to one that needs it.
- See what your stock is worth: the value behind the cost columns.
Next: when the shelf and the screen disagree, count the stock.
