Fixing a problem
Count your drawer now
A manager asked for a surprise count of your drawer, and the till waits for it before the next sale. Count the notes and coins, tap Send the count, then sell as usual.
What it means
Link to this section: What it meansA manager or the owner asked for a surprise count of your drawer, in the middle of your shift. Your business has the till wait for it, so no sale completes until you send the count. Within a minute the till asks you to count. If you were taking a payment at that moment, Kila says the message above instead of completing the sale.
What to do
Link to this section: What to do- Read who asked and when, such as “Tess Mwende asked for a count at 19:20: Routine check before the evening rush. Count the notes and coins in the drawer; selling continues once the count is sent.”
- Count every note and coin in the drawer, and type how many of each.
- Tap Send the count of …. Kila says Count sent: “Thank you. You can carry on selling.”
- Tap Complete sale again, as the message says, or carry on with the next sale.
Good to know
The count is blind: the till never shows you what Kila expects in the drawer. Kila tells the manager the result. A count does not close your shift.
- Ask for a surprise cash count: what the manager does, and the result they see.
- How shifts and cash-ups work: what Kila expects in the drawer.
- Close a shift: the full count at the end of your shift.
