Sell at the shop till

The gym’s shop and smoothie bar sells on Kila’s till, like any shop: water, sports drinks, protein shakes and bars, supplements and the club’s gear. Put the member on the sale and they earn loyalty points.

Before you start

• Your shift is open on your till. A cashier lands on the till when they sign in; if no shift is open, Kila asks you to Open your shift: see Open a shift.

Steps

1. Open the till

   Sell › Point of sale. The products are grouped as the gym sells them, such as Drinks and supplements and Merchandise. Quick picks has the products your business chose for the till.

2. Tap each product the member buys

   Or search for it, or scan its barcode, in Scan a barcode or search by name or SKU.

3. Tap Add a member (optional) and choose the member

   Search by name, phone or member number. The list shows each member’s loyalty points. “A walk-in cash sale does not need one.”

4. Tap Charge

   The button shows the total, such as Charge KES 470.00.

5. Choose how they pay

   For cash, choose Cash and type what you received in Cash received.

6. Tap Take cash

   For M-Pesa, a card or a bank transfer, follow the till’s payment steps instead.

7. Give the change and the receipt

   Kila says Sale S-… complete with the Change to give, and how many points the member earned, such as “Mutua Mohamed earned 4 points. Balance 77.” Print or send the receipt, or tap New sale.

What if

A member asks for a day pass at the till

Send them to the front desk. The till has Gym visit (day pass and visit packs) among its products, but a gym visit rung up on the till is only a sale: it gives the member no pass, and the front desk still turns them away.

Kila shows:

Not in

No active membership, day pass or visit pack.

The member wants to pay for their membership

Memberships are paid against their invoice at the desk: see Take a membership payment.

Good to know

At Kasarani Fit Club a member earns 1 point for each KES 100 they spend, on the shop till and on their membership invoices.
