Step by step
Sell from the van on your route
On My route, open the shop, check in, sell from what the van carries for cash, M-Pesa or on account, and check out. Every sale belongs to your van's day.
A sales rep spends the day on a beat: a list of shops to visit, with a van loaded at the depot. My route is the rep’s phone screen. Each sale comes off the van’s stock and its money belongs to the van’s day, which the store counts in and a supervisor reconciles in the evening.
Open My route
Kila opens My route when you sign in. The van card shows your van’s day, such as VD-000015, on the road, with what you have Sold, Collected, the Cash on you and M-Pesa. This month shows your sales, collections and visits against your targets, and Stops today lists the shops on today’s beat.
Tap the shop
Tap the shop under Stops today: those still to see say To visit. For a shop not on today’s list, tap + Customer and find it by name, number or phone.
Check in
The shop shows what it owes and its credit left. Tap Check in: Kila says Checked in and notes the time, such as “In at 21:15”.
Tap Sell from the van
The other buttons take an order for delivery, collect a payment, give a free issue, take a return or empties back, check the shelf, or record No order or Not visited with the reason.
Enter the quantities
Kila lists what the van carries, at the shop’s prices, with how many are on the van. Find a product with Find a product and type the quantity beside it.
Choose how they pay and tap Sell
Choose Cash, M-Pesa (with the code from the customer’s message) or On account for a shop with credit. The button shows the total, such as Sell KES 320. Kila says Sold KES 320, and the shop now offers Print the receipt.
Check out
Tap Check out as you leave. Kila notes how long you were there, such as “In at 21:15, out at 21:16 (1 min)”, and the stop says Sold.
The shop is on hold
Link to this section: The shop is on holdThe reason for the hold comes first: this is Donholm Hotel and Butchery on Kevin’s beat. Sell for cash or M-Pesa: On account is not offered.
The shop orders nothing
Link to this section: The shop orders nothingTap No order and choose why, such as Has enough stock: Kila asks Why no order.
The van card says the phone is not registered
Link to this section: The van card says the phone is not registered“This device is not registered for selling. Ask an owner or manager to approve it from the till. Until then the till sells only with a connection.” You can sell while you have signal; ask the owner or a manager to approve the phone.
