Step by step
Take back crates and empties
Crates and bottles go out with each sale, with a deposit on the shop's account. Take them back at the depot or on the road and the deposit comes back to the shop; record empties sent to or from the principal.
Soda goes out in crates, water in 18.9 litre bottles, and the principal wants them back. Kila counts the containers that go out with each sale and puts their deposit on the shop’s account; when the shop hands them back, the count goes down and the deposit comes back to the shop.
Open Empties and crates
Distribution › Empties and crates: “Returnable containers out with outlets, their deposits, and empties at the depot.” Each container shows its code, its deposit and its principal, how many are With outlets and At the depot, and the products that go out in it. Below, the shops holding containers, with the Deposit held for each, and the Latest movements: Out with a sale, with the invoice and the deposit, and Back from an outlet.
Tap Empties back from an outlet
Find the shop by name, number or phone. Kila shows each container with how many the shop holds, such as Soda crate (24 bottles) (holds 9). Type how many it hands back.
Tap Take them back
Kila says Empties taken back. Latest movements shows them, such as “Back from an outlet: 9 Soda crate (24 bottles) · Kajiado Shoppers · EMP-00034”, with the deposit coming back to the shop: KES 2,700 for nine crates at KES 300.
On the road
Link to this section: On the roadReps on My route and drivers on My run have Empties back on each shop: type how many of each container and tap Take them back.
Empties at the depot
Link to this section: Empties at the depotCrates also go back to the principal, come in with the principal’s deliveries, or turn out more or fewer when counted. Tap At the depot, choose the Container and What happened: Sent back to the principal, Came in from the principal, Count: more than recorded or Count: fewer than recorded. Type How many, a Reference if there is one, and a Note if it helps, then tap Record.
You type more than the shop holds. Kila says so, such as “Kajiado Shoppers holds 9 Soda crate (24 bottles). Record no more than that.”
Good to know
A container is set up once, by the sales manager or the owner: its code, name, deposit and principal, and the Products that go out in it, with the Containers per unit: “1, or 1/24 for a crate of 24”. Whether Kila keeps containers at all is in Distribution settings, Returnable containers: Not kept, Balances only or Deposits on the outlet’s account, as at Mombasa Road.
